Chapter 22: Nightmare

Berrypaw turned in his sleep. He had had a terrible nightmare about a strange cat. Its ears were torn and it had a shaggy brown coat. It walked out of a dark forest. Behind it was small black tom with a collar with bones sticking out of it.

Berrypaw laughed in his sleep. A kittypet! he thought.

Then, another cat appeared. A white cat. The white cat had black splotches on its pelt. This cats also had a bone collar.

"Who are you?" asked Berrypaw tentatively.

"I am Tigerstar," said the brown leader. "And these are Scourge and Bone." The two nodded as they were acknowledged.

"I know of your skills as a warrior, and how Silverstar and Goldenfur always overlook your talent to those that are lesser than a great apprentice like you, like Birdpaw," crooned Tigerstar "I also know of the one you love, Aurorapaw. With my help, you could be together."

"But...but she's a medicine cat," spluttered Berrypaw.

"In the Dark Forest, medicine cats can have mates," Tigerstar meowed, his eyes shiny in the moonlight. Berrypaw's eyes lit up.

"What must I do to join you?" he asked, but then, Tigerstar disappeared, and Berrypaw woke up.

In all the Clans, many cats were tempted by the things they desired.

Soon, there were enough cats for a whole Clan that wanted to join Tigerstar.

The legendary army had begun to form again!
